Three Weeks Post Treatment

It's been three weeks since I graduated treatment. I went through a residential program, PHP, and IOP. I'm definitely feeling better than when I entered residential, but getting back to normal life has been a bit of a challenge. I don't have a job, yet, but I'm still looking. As a teacher, I may not be able to find something until the fall. I'm still getting weekly therapy, but at least it wouldn't interfere with working normal hours.

The therapist that I'm now working with is qualified to perform EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing. We'll start EMDR therapy soon. This is a science-backed way to move past trauma and PTSD. I still have plenty that I need to work on, outside of my traumas and PTSD, so that will be worked on, as well.

I still struggle with sleep, but my psychiatrist has prescribed clonidine to help. I struggle with impulse buying, and that's at the top of my list to work on. I still have depression, though I haven't had suicidal ideations since I was out of my meds during the beginning of PHP. My depression is much less than when I went into residential, as well. I feel like a solid 3 out of 10 rating on my depression, and a 4 out of 10 on my anxiety, compared to when I entered treatment at a 10 out of 10 on both.

I'm looking forward to continuing to better myself and work out of this depression.
